Aquamesh and Our Environment

Aquamesh® is wire mesh welded from plain steel strands of wire, then pulled through molten zinc to completely surround the weld to prevent the steel from rusting.

This eliminates weak points in the galvanized coating and creates a stronger weld. Computerized welding equipment maintains total consistency of weld quality throughout the mesh. PVC is then applied using an advanced process that delivers a protective layer that can handle rough treatment without stripping or peeling. For many years people have been looking for ways to provide the world with new food sources. Mariculture, a specialized branch of aquaculture, involves the cultivation of marine organisms for food and other products in the open ocean.

This method has become very popular but has produced grow-out systems made of plastic and other environmentally harmful products. We produce shellfish grow-out systems with a more environmentally friendly approach that we hope will change the mindset in place today.

In other words, we would like to introduce an effective way of producing food that allows aquaculture to grow in the most natural environment without destroying or polluting the water and beaches that are needed for effective cultivation.

Using Aquamesh®, we have developed a shellfish grow-out system that our customers claim is the most effective way to cultivate shellfish.

Due to maximum uninhibited water flow with the least amount of bio-fouling, our Max-Flow Tray systems are growing 30% bigger shellfish in a shortened crop growth cycle. Our trays have negative buoyancy so no broken plastic pieces end up floating around farm areas. Plus, if for any reason trays are lost, they will sink to the bottom where they can be retrieved and easily repaired.

Our newest system, the Max-Flow Shellfish Cylinder produces the same results as the Max-Flow Tray system but with less handling. This lowers the mortality rates and produces a bigger, healthier product.
